Company Overview

We have average of 10yrs experience in Marine and Dredging related business. We are indigenous company rendering world class services to our clients in all aspect of our business.

Our professionalism in dredging operations has been commended by SPDC Ltd. as could be seen from the attached commendation letter; we deliver on time and efficiently on any project of dredging.

In the area of stock piling, we have in the past stock pilled 2,000,000 m3 of sand for supply to major construction and oil companies.

Our operation in the area of dredging is also visible in our assistance to Julius Berger (B+B) and others in the area of River Crossing, Canalization, Shore protection and Reclamation within Niger Delta and environs. Some of these projects are still ongoing. Attached is a list of some of the related projects executed and ongoing.

Management Team

Mr. Akinwola Daniel Oladapo - Executive Director (Operations)
Oladapo Akinloye Daniel holds HND in Urban and Regional Planning from the Polytechnic, Ibadan and Post Graduate Diploma and M. Sc. Degree in Transport from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye. He worked for several years with Dapkol Engineering Nigeria Limited where he rose to the post of Project Manager before he resigned his appointment in 1997. He contributed immensely to the successful completion of various projects undertaken by Dapkol, including the EEC sponsored projects under Lome II convention while employed there. He joined Japaul Limited in 1998 as General Manager Operations – Lagos and was elected into the board in April 2008 as Executive Director -Operations.

Irewole Olowe - General Manager (Operations)
He is presently the GM, Operations for the Dredging Division of the company. He has held various positions from sales to logistics before joining the services of Japaul in 2000. While in Japaul he has held various responsibilities ranging from logistics officer, material manager, contract/project manager, and logistics/contract manager. He holds BSc, and is a Chartered Shipper

Engr. Asein Gabriel- General Manager, Pipelines
Asein Ohilebo Gabriel, started his career in 1981 as a Trainee Engineer with W.W Whyte International limited, Port Harcourt. He holds B.Eng. (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin (1981). He worked as Site Engineer form 1982-1986 and was responsible for construction of various buildings / infrastructure for Federal Ministries of Education & Works, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). He also worked briefly with A. Michelleti Ltd. as a Site Engineer in 1986 responsible for construction of various residential houses in GRA, Port Harcourt. He returned to W.W. Whyte in 1986 and rose to the position of Operations Manager in 2005. As Project Engineer, He handled the construction of Shell Warri’s Edjeba Housing Estate Phase 2 from 1988-1991, construction / replacement of about 80km of crude oil and gas flowlines for SPDC East and NAOC respectively between 1991 and 1995. He worked as Project Manager, Swamp Mechanical Repair crew services contract for SPDC East from 1996-2002 responsible for flowline replacement, flare stack installation, Wellhead Upgrades, Pigging facilities installation, Flow Stations upgrade. and then as Operations Superintendent in charge of Logistics support for all company operations. In 2005, he became the company’s Operations Manager.
He joined Japaul Oil & Maritime PLC in October 2007 as Operations Manager (Pipeline/Civil), Senior Manager (Pipeline/Mechanical Works) before his elevation to the present position. He is a registered Engineer and a corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers

Engr.VincentDiai - Project Manager
He started his career as the head of the technical crew that carried out an Environmental Impact Assessment for Julius Berger Nigeria Limited at the Itakpe-Ajaokuta Ore railway facility at Agbor in Delta State and Site restoration (waste management) for SPDC in Delta State.
He later joined ADDS INT’L INVESTMENT LIMITED as the Operations Manager in charge of project planning, work scope evaluation, personnel and equipment management for dredging works. Engr. Vincent Diai has 10yrs work experience in dredging operations of various capacities.
Presently, he is the Project Manager for Japaul Oil & Maritime Services Plc., his responsibility includes but not limited to oversee all dredging & administrative operations.

Ekpe Daniel - Lead Surveyor
With more than 10yrs experience in Surveying started his career as a Surveyor at Ham Dredging Nigeria Ltd., where he rose from the position of Surveyor to Chief Surveyor within a record of three years, he had his training in London, Aberdeen and Netherlands and was exposed to the various aspects of current trends in dredging, Hydro surveying and Business management.
He later joined Tecafric Global Services Limited as the Lead Surveyor where he supervised the execution of various surveying works for the company such as Torugbene turnkey project for SPDC, Tecaafric - Morgeen joint venture on the Brass LNG project, Cawthorne Channel gas project in Kalabari Kingdom with Global gas & refinery company etc.
He is currently working for JDSL as the Lead Surveyor.

Ayorinde Oniyesan - HSE Manager
He is a graduate of Industrial Chemistry; he obtained a PGD in Chemical Engineering from University of Port Harcourt. He is trained as a Contractor Employee HSE supervision course (level 3), Nigeria Institute of Safety Professionals and Effluent treatment, oil spill Management & Control and firefighting.
He started his career with Tekscope Nigeria Limited as the Safety Supervisor where he has handled many safety jobs to the credit of the company. He is currently the HSE Manager of JDSL

Company Activities

JAPAUL DREDGING SERVICES LIMITED is a company has been involved in dredging for more than 10yrs. Due to its successful entrance into the business, the degree of envisaged patronage and capability, JDSL now own fleets of 10 CSD dredgers which includes suction-reclamation dredgers that enables us to work with efficiency of 300-1200m3 /h and deliver the dredged sand to a distance of 2000m (2km).

Our dredging department also has auxiliary crafts such as tug boats, speed boats (petrol and diesel), barges and anchor boats, house boats, pontoon and other dredging accessories.

We have at our disposal dredgers with effective dredging depth up to 22m which can be used to clean the bottom of ports and extract aggregates for building industries.

Having efficient equipment and professional crew, JAPAUL OIL & MARITIME SERVICES PLC, will undertake any technically difficult task and deliver it professionally and on time too. Little wonders why today we are the toast in the dredging industry with a zero LTI since inception.

Our area of coverage in dredging includes:

STOCKPILING: Road works, construction, sales, etc.

RECLAMATION: Land acquisition by displacement.

CANALISATION: Creating new canal or expanding / deepening existing ones to specified depth and or width.

RIVER CROSSING: Underwater trenching or back filling for pipes and cables in the sub surface.

SWEEPING: Location dredging of access and slot also known as maintenance dredging.

SHORE PROTECTION: Holding back land area around the river bank from being washed into the river by water current.

Our survey department has state of the art equipment ranging from echo sounder, total station, plotters and is man by a crop of seasoned surveyors.
